What would saline do for an ovariectomized rat?

Probably nothing since saline is nothing but salt and water. The body naturally absorbs salt and water, so again my hypothesis would be nothing will happen. Nothing good, nothing bad. Now, depending on the amount of salt in the solution, the rat would probably swell from excess salt, but nothing more.
