Oh no, that's terrible! I've been in a similar situation, the partner actually pushed me down the stairs and I broke my wrist!! But don't worry, he's just a bit pissed off at the moment. Give him time to calm down, and see if he's more willing to talk about it then. The main focus right now is to put your feelings aside, and just aim at being friends.
