Bf worries since he joined royal navy?

ive been abit suspicious of my bf lately since he joined the royal navy. when he wasent deployed he would live with me and then go back again. but now he has told me that he wants to move to the royal navy base in plymouth , the other side of the country. he has told me that living in the base he will still be able to visit me anytime. is this true? If he lives in the royal navy base will the navy allow him to visit me anytime.
